PROMOTING COMMUNICATION: EMPOWERING CHILDREN THROUGH PEDIATRIC SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY

Dhyana Lopez will be conducting breakout sessions on how speech-language pathologists can contribute to the homeschool curriculum. The sessions will cover various types of speech-language delays/disorders, including receptive/expressive language, articulation, swallowing/feeding disorders, and pragmatic/social skills. Dhyana will discuss how to identify if a child needs speech therapy and how homeschoolers can access these services. She will also highlight milestones for speech and language development and explain the differences between public school, private school, and homeschool speech therapy. Lastly, Dhyana will provide tips and tricks for parents concerned about their child's speech or language development.
