READING AS A VISUAL LANGUAGE

Parents will gain a deeper understanding of how the visual skills (acuity, oculomotor, and visual perception) come together to turn letters, numbers, and symbols into a visual picture in the brain that helps the child comprehend what they are reading. The obstacles that interfere with integrated visual skills will be touched upon, and the parents will leave with some practical strategies to implement immediately in the home to improve their child's processing and reading skills.
